About Us:
We’re on a mission to revolutionise education in schools and professional development. At Teachtorch, we are developing state-of-the-art AI technologies to create tools and platforms that make learning more engaging, personalised, accessible, and without compromising privacy.
We customise, develop, deploy and service AI-powered educational solutions through our business partners to organisations such as schools, NGOs, and companies, empowering the learning process and bridging the innovation gap for future talents.
We’re a close and passionate and experienced team from across Europe with an established business network globally, and every line of code you write directly shapes the future of learners.
The Role:
We’re looking for an AI Software Engineer to join us in a key technical role. You’ll design, build, and deploy intelligent AI agents that power our next-generation educational products. You will work closely with AI engineers, product, and software teams to turn cutting-edge research into reliable, production-ready systems.
This role goes beyond experimentation: your work will directly define how autonomous and semi-autonomous AI systems operate safely, efficiently, and at scale in real learning environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain AI agents using Python and SOTA LLM technologies
- Build agent capabilities such as:
- Tool usage (APIs, internal services, databases)
- Task decomposition, planning, and reasoning
- Memory systems (short-term, long-term, vector-based)
- Integrate large language models into production workflows
- Collaborate with product, research, and engineering teams to translate client needs into AI-driven solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Python code
- Contribute to system architecture, performance optimisation, and reliability
- Experiment with new ideas and actively help shape the AI technology roadmap
Skills & Experience:
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience building LLM-powered applications or AI agents
- Hands-on experience with at least one agent or LLM framework
- Solid software engineering fundamentals (architecture, testing, version control)
- Problem-solver mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a start-up environment
- Eager to learn and adapt to fast-evolving AI technologies
- Engineering education background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or relevant domains.
- Passionate about shaping the future of education
PLUS:
- Experience with open-source LLMs
- Knowledge of RAG pipelines and hybrid search systems
- Experience with multi-agent systems or orchestration workflows
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, or DevOps practices
- Interest in privacy-preserving, on-prem, or regulated AI deployments
- Prior experience in EdTech or learning platforms
Why Join Us:
- Impact: Have a real voice in decisions—your ideas and AI systems will directly shape the future of education
- Adventure: Join a small, passionate, and experienced team that supports each other and moves fast
- Growth: Learn, experiment, and grow with the latest AI agent architectures, DevOps practices, and LLM technologies
