WordPress and Digital Marketing Manager

Overview

The International Tamil Engineers Forum (ITEF) is a Section 8, not-for-profit organisation building a global ecosystem for Tamil engineers across industry, innovation, skills, and policy. Our work spans across skilling and workforce mobility initiatives, professional conferences and events, and development of digital platforms to support long-term professional and institutional engagement.

We are hiring a full-time WordPress and Digital Marketing Manager to own and manage ITEF’s digital presence end to end. This is a hands-on execution role with WordPress as the primary responsibility, supported by strong ownership of social media and digital marketing execution.

This role is on-site in Chennai. Candidates must be based in Chennai or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

WordPress and Website Ownership

• Own and manage all ITEF WordPress websites and landing pages.

• Handle custom themes and child themes.

• Work extensively with Elementor for page building and layout control.

• Manage plugins, updates, security, backups, and overall site health.

• Ensure basic performance optimisation and Core Web Vitals awareness.

• Manage hosting environments, deployments, and troubleshooting.

• Coordinate with external developers or agencies while retaining internal ownership.

Social Media and Digital Marketing Execution

• Own ITEF’s social media presence across platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram.

• Ideate content in collaboration with the internal team.

• Manage content calendars, posting, and publishing.

• Coordinate with designers for creatives and assets.

• Execute digital marketing and paid campaigns (Google and Meta Ads).

• Maintain campaign landing pages and conversion flows.

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in WordPress development, managing live WordPress websites (Elementor) with admin access.

• Proven hands-on experience running and managing paid ad campaigns on Google and Meta Ads, including basic campaign setup, optimisation and performance tracking.

• Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and PHP

• Experience with plugin management, security practices, and backups.

• Basic understanding of website performance optimisation and Core Web Vitals.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.

• Willingness to work on-site in Chennai. Open to relocation.
