Role Overview

We are seeking a senior engineering leader to provide technical, operational, and people leadership across Components Engineering manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for engineering strategy, execution excellence, and capability building, working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Business Leadership to deliver world‑class outcomes at scale. This is a hands‑on leadership position for a leader who can operate at both strategic and shop‑floor levels—driving results through teams, systems, and disciplined execution.


Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership & Strategy

  • Own engineering outcomes across assigned Components Engineering manufacturing areas, aligned to business objectives for quality, cost, delivery, and scalability.
  • Define and drive the engineering roadmap for process capability, yield improvement, and operational robustness.
  • Act as a technical authority and escalation point for complex manufacturing and quality challenges.

Operational Excellence & Execution

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver stable mass production, rapid issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive structured problem solving for chronic losses, customer issues, and operational risks.
  • Ensure strong governance of process changes, NPI readiness, validation, and documentation.

People & Capability Building

  • Build, mentor, and develop high‑performing engineering teams with a strong ownership mindset.
  • Set clear goals, performance expectations, and succession plans for engineering talent.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Cross‑Functional & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, NPI, and Business teams to ensure aligned execution.
  • Support customer engagements, audits, and technical reviews, building confidence in Tata Electronics’ Components Engineering capabilities.
  • Work with suppliers and partners on technical evaluations, qualifications, and improvement initiatives.

Governance, Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to quality systems, safety standards, and statutory compliance.
  • Drive audit readiness and closure of systemic gaps across Components Engineering operations.
  • Review performance metrics and lead management reviews using data‑driven decision making.

Technical Expertise

  • Component Engineering
  • Fixture Design
  • CNC and precision machining processes
  • Automation systems and manufacturing automation integration
  • Anodizing and chemical process expertise
  • Tool room operations and mold design/manufacturing expertise


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electronics, or related discipline).
  • Advanced certifications or Six Sigma / Lean exposure is an advantage.


Experience

  • Significant leadership experience in Components Engineering, electronics manufacturing, OEM, ODM, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Proven track record of leading teams, scaling operations, and delivering measurable improvements in yield, quality, cost, or productivity.
  • Experience working in high‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
