About the Role
We are hiring a Vice President – Accounting Operations to lead and scale our US Accounting Portfolio. This is a strategic leadership role combining:
- Client relationship ownership
- Portfolio P&L management
- Revenue growth & client upgrades
- Operational excellence
- Leadership development
You will manage ~100 team members across bookkeeping, R2R, AP/AR, FP&A, and controller-level services, while directly leading 8–10 Engagement Managers. This is not just a delivery role — it is a growth-oriented operations leadership position.
Responsibilities
- Client Relationship & Portfolio Ownership (Primary KPI)
- Own a portfolio of US accounting firm clients.
- Build and maintain Partner / CXO-level relationships.
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Act as escalation authority for strategic accounts.
- Improve overall client experience and satisfaction.
- Revenue Growth & Client Upgrades (New Business from Existing Clients)
- Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Proactively recommend additional services (R2R, FP&A, Controller support, etc.).
- Drive seat expansion and service upgrades.
- Partner with Sales for structured account expansion strategy.
- Track account-wise revenue growth and margin improvement.
Operational Excellence & Profitability
- Manage utilisation, realization, and capacity planning.
- Ensure strong portfolio-level gross margins.
- Monitor production hours and efficiency metrics.
- Optimise bench management and workforce planning.
- Drive process standardisation and quality frameworks.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Directly manage 8–10 Engagement Managers.
- Oversee ~100 team members.
- Build second-line leadership within the EM layer.
- Mentor high-potential talent for growth.
- Drive performance accountability culture.
- US Market Alignment & Travel
- Travel to the US for client meetings and relationship building.
- Represent the organisation at conferences and partner events.
- Align offshore delivery to US accounting firm expectations.
- Bring market insights back into operations strategy.
Qualifications
Education (Mandatory)
- CPA (US) or CA (India) (Preferably look for CPA)
Experience
- 8–12 years in Accounting Offshoring / KPO / Global Delivery.
- Experience managing:
- Large US accounting firm portfolios
- 80–150 team members
- 6–10 direct managerial reports
Strong exposure to:
- QuickBooks Online
- Xero
- NetSuite
- US GAAP
- Experience handling client P&L and profitability.
Required Skills
- Active US Visa (B1/B2 or equivalent).
- Prior US travel experience.
- Strong executive presence.
- Commercial acumen and revenue mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven ability to scale teams and portfolios.
