About VISTA
The Vidarbha Social Transformation Alliance (VISTA) serves as an ecosystem enabler and the structural backbone for social transformation in the Vidarbha region. By aligning diverse stakeholders—including NGOs, CSR, academia, and government—VISTA provides the scaffolding needed to professionalize the social sector and maximize regional impact through data-backed and sustainable interventions.
Role Overview
As VISTA enters its first quarterly phase (Foundation & Ecosystem Mapping), we are seeking dedicated District Volunteers to act as our primary touchpoints across the various districts of Vidarbha. This role is critical in establishing a baseline for the region’s social sector and ensuring that our initiatives are grounded in local reality.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteers Will Support VISTA’s Four Specialized Verticals—Capacity Building, Policy & Advocacy, Partnerships, And Pilot Initiatives—through The Following Activities
Ecosystem Research & Mapping: Conduct surveys and map at least 20 NGOs within your assigned district to help build a comprehensive regional landscape report.
Stakeholder Identification: Assist in building a database of local stakeholders, including CSR partners, at least one educational/institutional partner, and one government partner per district.
Local Activity & Event Advocacy: Suggest relevant local events and activities specific to your district that align with VISTA’s mission. You will be responsible for conceptualizing grassroots engagement opportunities to strengthen our local presence.
Community Outreach & Awareness: Act as an ambassador for VISTA by “spreading the word” within your district. You will actively work to increase visibility, ensuring that more organizations and individuals are aware of our alliance and the resources we provide.
Data Collection: Support the “Gap Assessment Survey” for grassroots organizations and assist in gathering secondary research on local agriculture, health, and livelihoods.
Operational Support: Help coordinate “Vidarbha Visioning” workshops and facilitate dialogues between local social sector leaders and the VISTA Secretariat.
Resource Advocacy: Promote VISTA’s tools and resources (such as digital identity support) to help grassroots organizations improve their delivery quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
Location: Must be a resident of or deeply familiar with one of the districts in the Vidarbha region.
Passion for Impact: A strong interest in the social sector, rural transformation, and regional development.
Communication Skills: Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, from grassroots NGO leaders to government officials.
Data Literacy: Basic proficiency in data collection and report writing.
Commitment: Ability to meet the specific milestones of the Q1 Quarterly Plan (e.g., mapping targets by May 2026).
About Company: Sahyadri Foundation is a renowned NGO working on issues affecting the urban and rural communities of Nagpur district. For the last 15 years of our existence, the organization has developed and implemented several innovative interventions with a special focus on health, sanitation, shelter for the homeless, housing for the poor, skill training, providing livelihood to SHG, and working for the welfare and empowerment of women, children, adolescent girls & boys, and farmers by initiating development programs in the fields of education, sports, environment protection, counseling in career guidance, and linkages to health care & livelihoods.
