We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Vocational Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team at CAPAAR Special School. The role involves training and supporting children and young adults with special needs in developing pre - vocational, functional, pre-employment, and life skills to enhance independence and community participation.

The ideal candidate should be patient, creative, and enthusiastic about empowering individuals with special needs through skill-based learning and vocational training programs.


Vocational Teacher Responsibilities:

  • Assessing the vocational interests, strengths, and functional abilities of children and young adults with special needs.
  • Planning and conducting individualized and group-based vocational training sessions.
  • Teaching functional academic skills, daily living skills, work readiness, and pre-vocational activities.
  • Developing structured activities to improve communication, social interaction, independence, and workplace behavior.
  • Training students in vocational tasks such as craft work, basic computer skills, art-based activities, packaging, sorting, office assistance, kitchen skills, or other functional skill programs.
  • Collaborating with Special Educators, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, Psychologists, and parents for holistic development.
  • Monitoring, documenting, and reporting student progress regularly.
  • Preparing training materials and adapting activities according to individual learning needs.
  • Conducting parent guidance and counseling sessions regarding vocational and independent living goals.
  • Participating in workshops, awareness programs, community outings, and team meetings organized by CAPAAR.


Qualification:

Bachelor’s Degree / B.Voc / Diploma or Certification in Vocational Training.


Vocational Teacher Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young adults with Autism, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, or Multiple Disabilities preferred.
  • Good understanding of functional skill training, behavior management, and activity-based learning approaches.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity, patience, empathy, and adaptability while working with diverse learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setup.
