Job Description

About DROPZ

DROPZ is India's first true limited-edition platform, a culture-forward destination where every product drop is rare, intentional, and never restocked. We aren't just building a brand; we're building a platform that curates stories through exclusive in-house drops, creator collaborations, and collectible releases across fashion, lifestyle, and beyond. Every drop is a moment, but the platform is the big picture and our brand must ignite cultural hype.

As a Visual Illustrator, you will turn drop narratives, cultural references, and product concepts into illustration systems that feel collectible, production-ready, and unmistakably DROPZ. This is a 0 to 100 environment where you will move with urgency, own outcomes end to end, take feedback daily, and build with the team for the long game, not just deliver tasks.

What You’ll Do

  • Illustrate original visuals for product designs (tees, packaging, labels, inserts, stickers, collectibles), delivering clean, production-ready files with scalable formats, placement notes, and print aware artwork that holds up on physical output.
  • Translate drop themes and moodboards into strong illustration directions by sketching explorations fast, iterating with intent, and presenting 2 to 5 distinct routes that connect story, culture, and product desirability.
  • Build illustration systems and motif libraries that extend across a full drop, maintaining consistency in line language, texture, icon style, and composition while reserving space for hero moments that carry the launch.
  • Collaborate closely with design, merch, and production to align on print methods, material constraints, and sizing, then adjust artwork to reduce risk and ensure the final result looks premium on fabric and packaging stocks.
  • Run a tight iteration workflow by sharing early WIPs, capturing review feedback clearly, documenting changes, and shipping improved versions quickly so the team can lock visuals without last-minute quality compromises.
  • Create supporting illustrations for campaign and social assets (story frames, accents, patterns, highlight elements), ensuring launch visuals stay cohesive with product art and the drop reads as one unified narrative.
  • Research visual trends and cultural references weekly, then translate them into original work, keeping DROPZ illustration language fresh, informed, and authentic rather than derivative or copy-adjacent.
  • Prepare print-ready deliverables by organizing layers, naming files cleanly, outlining fonts when required, expanding strokes, and providing separations or spot color guidance aligned to the production plan.
  • Maintain an organized source library of sketches, finals, and exported assets, making handoffs easy, reducing rework, and enabling quick reuse across future drops without style drift.
  • Support pre-production checks by reviewing mockups, catching readability or separation issues early, and making precise fixes so what we approve digitally is what shows up physically, without surprises.

Who You Are

  • You have 6 to 12 months of hands-on illustration practice, with a portfolio that shows strong fundamentals, intentional style decisions, and proof you can make artwork that translates onto real products.
  • You can ideate quickly, sketch multiple directions, and refine without losing the original energy, balancing exploration with delivery so a drop moves forward instead of getting stuck in endless options.
  • You understand physical constraints like limited colors, fabric texture, print methods, scaling, and clean separations, and you design with those realities in mind rather than fixing everything at the end.
  • You take feedback well and use it as fuel, asking sharp questions, iterating fast, and keeping collaboration low friction so the team feels momentum, not tension, during review cycles.
  • You have a strong eye for detail, including consistent line work, clean edges, disciplined layer structure, and file hygiene that makes your work easy to revise, reuse, and ship at speed.
  • You communicate clearly in a fast-moving environment, sharing progress, flags, and next steps so stakeholders know what is locked, what is in motion, and what needs decisions.
  • You bring startup readiness and ownership, showing daily intensity, taking accountability like it is your drop too, and actively building a positive team culture in a 0 to 100 environment.
  • You are curious about culture, fashion, collectibles, and visual storytelling, and you study references thoughtfully while ensuring your final outputs stay original and aligned to DROPZ voice.
  • You manage time well by breaking work into milestones, sharing early WIPs, and meeting deadlines without sacrificing the quality bar at the last mile.
  • You care about growth and craft, practicing consistently, improving your execution, and raising your own standards so each drop looks sharper, cleaner, and more collectible than the last.

What We Offer

  • Real ownership from day one, where your illustration work directly shapes product design and drop identity, and you can see it go from concept to physical collectible in the world.
  • A culture-forward team with clear creative standards and respectful collaboration, where taste, craft, and reliability matter and credit is shared openly across the people who build the drop.
  • A high learning curve through doing, with room to expand your scope as you show consistency, speed, and judgment, building from 0 to 100 alongside a team that ships relentlessly.
  • The chance to help define DROPZ visual language over time, creating systems and signatures that can scale across in-house drops and creator collaborations without losing originality.
