Actively Reviewing the ApplicationsFilmito Private Limited
Job Description
Read this entire post before you apply. If you skip to the bottom and hit "Apply", we'll know.
We're Filmito. An AI-driven video production studio based in Ahmedabad, India — serving clients across 50+ countries. 900+ five-star reviews. 9 years in the game. We make cinematic ads, brand films, AI-powered commercials, and premium video content that makes people stop scrolling and start paying attention.
We're not looking for someone who "knows video editing."
We're looking for someone who thinks in cuts. Who hears a brief and already sees the first frame. Who knows the difference between a video that informs and a video that makes someone's jaw drop.
If your idea of great work is slapping text on stock footage with a trending audio, close this tab. This role isn't for you.
If your idea of great work is making someone feel something they didn't expect to feel in 15 seconds, keep reading.
You'll be our in-house video editor working directly with the founder. Not a cog in a machine. Not a task-taker waiting for instructions. You'll be a creative weapon, someone who receives a brief, researches, scripts, sources footage (stock + AI-generated), edits, sound designs, and delivers work that looks like it came from a studio 10x our size.
You'll work on:
Cinematic commercial ads for global brands, AI-generated video content (Runway, Kling, Veo 3, you should already know these names), Brand films and product launch videos, Social media ads optimized for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Motion graphics and typography-driven content Sound design and music-driven edits.
Every project is different. Every client is different. Every brief demands a different brain. If you need someone to hold your hand through every edit, this isn't the place.
Let's be brutally honest about what we're looking for:
1. You know stock media like a surgeon knows anatomy. You don't just search "happy business people" and call it a day. You know how to find the exact 3-second clip that makes a 30-second ad feel like a million-dollar production. You know where to find it, how to grade it, and how to cut it so it doesn't look like stock.
2. You know AI video generation and you actually use it. Not "I've heard of Runway." You've used Runway, Kling, Seedance, Pika, Sora, or similar tools. You've prompted. You've failed. You've iterated. You've created something that made someone say "wait, that's AI?" If you haven't touched AI generation tools, you're already behind for this role.
3. You edit with intention, not decoration. Every cut has a reason. Every transition serves the story. Every sound effect earns its place. You don't add lens flares because they look cool. You add them because the story needed light in that exact moment.
4. Your English is fluent, reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This is non-negotiable. You'll be on calls with international clients. You'll be reading briefs in English. You'll be writing scripts. You'll be explaining creative decisions. If you hesitate when you speak or struggle to understand fast-paced conversation, please do not apply. We need someone who communicates with clarity and confidence.
5. You grasp fast and execute faster. We don't repeat briefs three times. We don't micromanage timelines. You hear it once, ask the right questions, and deliver. Speed without sacrificing quality, that's the standard.
6. You have vision, not just skill. We don't want someone who executes what they're told. We want someone who receives a brief and comes back with something better than what was asked for. If you've ever looked at your own edit and thought "this is good enough", we're not the right fit.
You've never used AI video generation tools, Your portfolio is random YouTube edits, gaming montages, or wedding videos with no commercial work, You can't hold a conversation in English without hesitation, You need detailed step-by-step instructions for every project, You think "cinematic" means adding a black bar on top and bottom, You're looking for a 9-to-5 with no creative pressure, You apply to every job posting you see without reading it.
We mean this respectfully but we've been burned by random applications before. We'd rather get 5 serious applicants than 500 who didn't read past the title.
You've created something with AI tools that genuinely impressed you, Your portfolio makes YOU proud, not just your friends, You understand ad strategy not just ad editing, You can work across genres: luxury, tech, food, finance, healthcare and shift your style for each, You're obsessed with sound design, pacing, and emotional timing, You want to grow with a studio that's scaling globally — You've read this far and thought "this is exactly where I belong"
Editing: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, CapCut Pro, AI Generation: Runway ML, Kling, Seedance, Pika, Sora, Midjourney, ElevenLabs. Stock Platforms: Artgrid, Storyblocks, Pexels, Envato, Adobe Stock and you know how to make stock look nothing like stock. Sound: You understand music licensing, sound layering, and the difference between background music and sound design that makes someone's skin crawl. Design Sense: You can work with typography, brand guidelines, color palettes, and make a 15-second ad feel like a movie trailer
We don't expect you to be an expert in everything. But we expect you to be dangerous in most of it and hungry to master the rest.
Morning: You receive a brief from a US-based client launching a new product. You read it once. You research the brand, their competitors, their audience. You pull references. You draft a rough structure in your head before you even open the timeline.
Midday, You're sourcing footage. Three clips from Artgrid, two AI-generated shots from Runway that you prompted yourself, one custom motion graphic element. You assemble the rough cut. The pacing is tight. The music isn't just "fitting" it's driving the entire emotional arc.
Afternoon, First review with the founder. Notes are sharp and fast. You adjust in real time. Not because you're told how because you understand why. Final export. Client receives something they didn't know they needed.
That's one day. Tomorrow it's a completely different brand, different industry, different language. And you love that.
Direct mentorship from the founder, you'll learn business, creative strategy, client management, not just editing. Exposure to international clients across 50+ countries. Freedom to experiment with AI tools, new formats, new styles. A studio that values vision over volume, we'd rather make 1 incredible video than 10 forgettable ones. Growth path: we're building the team right now, and early joiners will shape the studio's future. Competitive compensation based on skill and experience. A culture where your opinion matters. if you see a better way to cut something, say it. If you think the brief is wrong, challenge it. We don't want yes-people. We want people with taste.

I built Filmito from zero. Nine years. Every frame, every client, every late night, I was there. This studio is my life's work, and anyone who joins this team becomes part of that story.
I don't care about your degree. I don't care about your follower count. I care about what you see when you close your eyes after reading a brief. I care about the work you'd make if nobody was watching.
Show me that , and we'll build something extraordinary together.
