About the Role
As the VP of FTL Marketplace/Loadboard, you will be the strategic architect and business owner of our Full Truck Load (FTL) digital freight ecosystem. Delhivery is transforming the Indian logistics landscape through technology, and you will be at the helm of scaling our marketplace, optimizing load-to-truck matching, and driving digital adoption among transporters and shippers.
You will work with cross-functional teams comprising product managers, operations, data scientists, and sales to create a seamless, transparent, and highly liquid marketplace that serves as the backbone for intercity freight movement across India.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & P&L Ownership
- Business Growth: Own the P&L for the FTL marketplace. Define and execute the long-term vision to capture market share in a fragmented industry.
- Marketplace Liquidity: Drive strategies to balance supply (transporters/truckers) and demand (shippers/corporates) to ensure high fulfillment rates and competitive pricing.
- Go-to-Market: Accelerate the adoption of our digital loadboard by small-to-medium fleet operators and large enterprise shippers alike.
Product & Technology Innovation
- Tech-First Operations: Partner with engineering and product teams to refine pricing algorithms, automated matching engines, and predictive analytics that reduce "empty miles" and improve turnaround times.
- Platform UX: Oversee the evolution of our driver/transporter app, focusing on engagement, trust-building, and seamless payment integration.
Operational Excellence
- Supply Partner Network: Build and nurture strong relationships with fleet owners. Implement loyalty programs and value-added services (insurance, fuel cards, financing) to increase platform stickiness.
- Service Quality: Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and on-time delivery across the managed fleet network.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage big data to identify lane inefficiencies, seasonal demand patterns, and market pricing trends.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 15+ years in logistics, supply chain, or e-commerce/tech-platform companies.
- Leadership: Proven track record of scaling high-growth businesses or marketplaces. You’ve led large, diverse teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Indian trucking industry—the complexities of unorganized supply, route economics, and regulatory landscapes.
- Analytical Rigor: You are comfortable working with complex data sets to solve pricing and routing problems. You speak the language of engineering and product as fluently as you speak logistics operations.
- Strategic Mindset: An ability to navigate the "chicken and egg" problem of marketplace dynamics—scaling supply and demand simultaneously.
