The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Valve Tender Manager to lead and manage all aspects of the valve tendering process for Hitachi Energy AB. This role plays a critical part in delivering competitive, high-quality technical and commercial tender proposals, driving strategic growth, and strengthening customer relationships within the energy sector.

How You’ll Make An Impact

  • Lead the end-to-end valve tendering process, ensuring timely delivery of accurate and competitive commercial and technical tenders aligned with scope, cost, risk, and delivery commitments.
  • Analyze customer specifications and technical requirements to ensure compliant and optimized valve solutions are proposed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, procurement, supply chain, and legal teams to develop comprehensive and compelling tender submissions.
  • Conduct tender reviews with management within HVDC Products, ensuring alignment with business strategy and risk appetite.
  • Perform detailed risk assessments and define mitigation strategies to manage technical, commercial, and contractual risks.
  • Present tender proposals to customers and internal stakeholders, clearly articulating value propositions, technical solutions, and cost drivers.
  • Lead and support contractual negotiations, securing favorable commercial and contractual terms for Hitachi Energy.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities and enhance tendering strategies.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of all tender activities, maintaining full compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase tender efficiency, quality, and success rates.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (BE / B.Tech)—Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline preferred.
  • 10–15 years of relevant experience, with strong exposure to tendering, project engineering, or commercial roles within the energy, HVDC, or industrial products sector.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary technical tenders and working with global stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of project engineering principles, including design coordination, risk assessment, cost estimation, and scheduling.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing complex problems and competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated capability to coach and review the work of junior professionals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with experience interacting directly with customers, contractors, and internal leadership.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and cost-effective delivery.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
