Designation: Production Head Furniture Manufacturing

Location: Palwal, Haryana

Role Objective

The Production Head will be responsible for leading end-to-end manufacturing operations of the furniture factory, ensuring efficient production planning, quality control, cost optimization, and timely delivery. The role requires strong leadership in managing plant operations, manpower, machinery, and process improvements to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning Execution
Oversee daily production operations and ensure achievement of production targets.
Develop production schedules aligned with sales forecasts and project timelines.
Optimize capacity utilization and minimize downtime.
Monitor workflow, productivity, and output quality.
Manufacturing Operations
Supervise woodworking, CNC operations, cutting, polishing, assembly, finishing, and packaging processes.
Ensure adherence to approved drawings and technical specifications.
Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Quality Control Compliance
Ensure strict quality standards across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
Coordinate with QA/QC team to reduce rejection rates and rework.
Maintain compliance with safety standards and factory regulations.
Cost Control Budgeting
Control production costs, wastage, and material consumption.
Monitor labor productivity and machine efficiency.
Prepare and manage production budgets.
Team Leadership Workforce Management
Lead and manage supervisors, machine operators, and production staff.
Conduct training and skill development initiatives.
Ensure discipline, safety, and performance monitoring of the workforce.
Inventory Resource Management
Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of raw materials.
Monitor stock levels of wood, hardware, laminates, veneers, and consumables.
Reduce material wastage and improve yield.
Plant Maintenance Safety
Ensure preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Enforce workplace safety standards and operational SOPs.
Coordinate with maintenance team to minimize breakdown time.

Key Skills Competencies

Strong knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes.
Experience in CNC machines, edge banding, panel saws, polishing lines, etc.
Production planning and plant operations expertise.
Cost optimization and lean manufacturing knowledge.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Understanding of quality standards and safety regulations.

Qualification Experience

Diploma / Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Production / Wood Technology or related field.
Minimum 1015 years of experience in furniture manufacturing.
At least 5 years in a leadership/plant head/production head role.
