About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, self-driven Upwork Bidder who can represent StrategyElevate – SAMVEDANAM Consulting on Upwork and drive inbound client acquisition for our consulting mandates.
In this pivotal role, you will define StrategyElevate’s Upwork strategy and positioning to attract the ideal clientele. Collaborating closely with SAMVEDANAM leadership, you will identify and shortlist the most relevant bids, working together to successfully secure them.
If you understand the language of business strategy, consulting, and client growth — and can convert that into winning proposals — this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Opportunity Mining — Identify and shortlist relevant Upwork projects aligned with StrategyElevate's services (Growth Advisory, Market Research, Due Diligence, Fundraising, etc.)
- Proposal Writing — Craft customized, compelling, and consultative proposals that reflect our expertise, methodology and client-first approach
- Lead Qualification — Engage in initial client conversations, understand their strategic needs, and qualify leads before handoff to the core consulting team
- Follow-Up & Conversion — Proactively follow up with prospects; manage objections and close engagement agreements
- CRM & Tracking — Maintain a structured log of bids, responses, and conversions using CRM/tracking tools (HubSpot, Trello, Google Sheets, or equivalent)
- Profile Management — Maintain and enhance SAMVEDANAM's Upwork profile rating, portfolio, and credibility score
- Market Intelligence — Stay updated on Upwork algorithm changes, competitor positioning, and demand trends in consulting/advisory verticals
- Target Achievement — Meet and exceed monthly project acquisition targets and revenue KPIs
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of proven Upwork bidding experience with a demonstrable win rate
- Strong written English — ability to write proposals that are crisp, consultative, and persuasive
- Working knowledge or ability to understand consulting/advisory services — Strategy, Market Research, Due Diligence, Business Plans, Fundraising, GTM, or similar
- Ability to understand complex client requirements quickly and map them to the right service offering
- Strong negotiation and closing skills — you must be comfortable discussing scope, timelines, and pricing
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and comfortable working independently
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to proposal automation or templates for consulting engagements
- Experience working in a boutique consulting, advisory, or IB firm might be a plus (but not a deal breaker)
- Availability to work with the StrategyElevate team in the Indian time zone.
Compensation
- We would like to start with a success based fee pilot for 3 months (or a mutually agreeable relevant period), and thereafter structure the commercial structure for long term engagement.
- Long-term growth opportunity within SAMVEDANAM's expanding practice for a permanent role if things go well.
