UI/UX Designer (Remote / Europe)
Actively Reviewing the Applicationslaiout
Job Description
laiout is a fully automated architectural design tool for floor planning - generating custom layouts in seconds instead of weeks, while delivering data on costs, carbon emissions, and efficiency. Clients already generate millions of m² of layouts through the platform every month, and growth is accelerating.
We’re a team with diverse backgrounds rethinking how spaces are designed. Backed by venture capital investors and global clients, we combine architectural insights with automation.
We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer to work closely with our CPO and developers to turn product ideas into intuitive, high-quality user experiences.
We are seeking a UI/UX Designer who bridges the gap between high-level product vision and detailed execution. You will work closely with our Chief Product Officer (CPO) to translate strategic goals into intuitive interfaces, with a specific focus on mastering application state to ensure a seamless user experience.
- State-Driven Design: Define and document all UI states - including ideal, empty, loading, partial, and error states - to ensure no “dead ends” in the user journey
- CPO Collaboration: Act as a strategic partner to the CPO, clearly articulating design decisions, trade-offs, and how specific UX flows impact business KPIs
- Figma Mastery: Build and maintain scalable design systems in Figma using advanced features like components, variants, and auto-layout
- Interaction Logic: Reason through complex user workflows and system behaviors, ensuring state changes are communicated clearly through visual feedback and micro-interactions
- User Feedback: Use customer feedback gathered by sales, product, and customer success to improve usability
- Research & Discovery: Turn input from sales, product, customer success, and product usage into clear design recommendations and better product decisions
- Developer Collaboration: Work closely with developers before and during implementation to ensure designs are clear, practical, and well executed
- Figma Expert: Proven experience using Figma as a primary tool for high-fidelity prototyping and collaborative handoffs
- Systems Thinker: Strong ability to “think in states” - anticipating how the UI responds when data is missing, slow to load, or encounters an error
- Strategic Communicator: Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to “speak the language” of leadership (CPO) and engineering
- Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for consistency, ensuring state changes remain uniform across the application
- Product Thinker: Strong problem framing skills and the ability to connect user needs, product goals, and UX decisions
- Research-Minded: Able to work with limited direct user access, identify friction, and make grounded recommendations from available input
- Portfolio Evidence: A portfolio that demonstrates not just final screens, but also the logic behind transitions, edge cases, and state-based navigation
Nice to have:
- Experience in AEC / Architecture / Engineering / Construction / BIM
- Startup experience
- Fully remote role (±3h CET) with flexible hours
- High ownership and close collaboration with product leadership
- Equity in a fast-growing global SaaS company
- Annual European off-sites
- Application: CV + portfolio to [email protected]
- 1st Interview: Intro call
- 2nd Interview: Design deep dive
- 3rd Interview: Get to know our CPO
- Final decision
