Role Description

Looking for engineers with proven hands-on experience who can take ownership of complete systems and contribute from day one. This role involves system-level integration, testing, and evaluation of propulsion and power electronics on flight platforms. Work spans multiple configurations including FPV, multirotor, fixed wing, and VTOL, across scales from micro builds to larger systems.

You will test motors, ESCs, and power systems in real operating conditions, analyse behaviour under load, identify failure modes, and drive performance improvements through structured testing and analysis.

Requires strong hands-on experience with propulsion, power electronics, flight control units, and communication protocols, along with the ability to translate system behaviour into clear engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate propulsion and power systems into UAV platforms and test setups
• Work across UAV configurations including FPV, multirotor, fixed wing, and VTOL
• Handle platforms ranging from micro UAVs to large systems
• Plan and execute flight testing under real operating conditions
• Evaluate electrical, thermal, and mechanical behaviour of propulsion systems
• Analyse interaction between propulsion, power systems, control systems, and airframe
• Identify failure modes across motors, ESCs, and power delivery systems
• Perform root cause analysis using data, logs, and repeatable validation
• Capture and analyse telemetry, logs, and flight data
• Provide structured and actionable feedback to engineering teams
• Support validation of propulsion and power systems as integrated architectures

Required Qualification

• 3+ years of experience in UAV integration, testing, or system engineering
• Strong understanding of UAV system architecture and subsystem interaction
• Hands-on experience across FPV, multirotor, fixed wing, and VTOL platforms
• Experience working across UAV scales from micro to large systems
• Strong understanding of propulsion systems including motors, ESCs, and propellers
• Working knowledge of power systems including batteries, distribution, wiring, and connectors
• Experience with flight control stack such as Betaflight, PX4, ArduPilot or equivalent
• Understanding of communication protocols such as PWM, DShot, CAN, UART, MAVLink
• Ability to configure, tune, and debug UAV systems
• Experience identifying system-level failures and debugging complex issues
• Ability to analyse telemetry, logs, and performance data
