Position Overview

BD Industries is looking for a skilled and proactive Maintenance / Tool Room Engineer to join our manufacturing team at our Hoshiarpur plant. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in mould maintenance, tool room operations, and breakdown troubleshooting, ensuring smooth production and maximum equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of moulds and tooling.
  • Perform mould maintenance, repair, and tool correction to ensure optimal performance.
  • Execute aluminium welding for mould repair and restoration.
  • Diagnose and resolve tooling and mould-related issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Conduct routine inspection and preventive maintenance activities for moulds and tool room equipment.
  • Maintain and service tool room equipment as per maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely availability of moulds.
  • Maintain maintenance records, repair history, and preventive maintenance checklists.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and good housekeeping practices within the tool room.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mould life, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience in mould maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of tool correction and tool room operations.
  • Experience in aluminium welding for mould maintenance.
  • Expertise in breakdown troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings and measuring instruments.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Relevant experience in maintenance, tool room, or mould maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in plastic injection moulding, automotive, or engineering manufacturing industries will be preferred.
