Job Description

This position is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance activities, ensuring continued reliability, availability, and performance of machinery, utilities, and infrastructure. The role focuses on maximizing equipment uptime, improving asset life, driving preventive and predictive maintenance programs, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting operational excellence initiatives.

  • Ensure all production assets are maintained in good condition and deliver as per the designed performance without interruptions/stoppagesa. Ensure high availability of critical equipment b. Equipment Reliability improvement c. Implementation of Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance. d. Monitor equipment performance through KPIs like OEE, MTBF, MTTR, breakdown frequency, and energy consumption. e. Spares Management
  • Equipment Technology upgrades aims for improving reliability and efficiency.a. Prepare annual maintenance budgets, manage departmental expenses, and optimize cost without compromising safety or quality. b. Plan major shutdowns, overhauls, and equipment upgrades in coordination with production and engineering teams.
  • Resource Management & People development – Review of the team, setting of KRA’s etc a. Skill enhancement and multi-skilling. b. Keep the team abreast with latest relevant technologies. c. Effective use of resources and team building/ development of leadership qualities. d. Ensure effective deployment of manpower across shifts and during emergency maintenance situations.
  • Cost Reduction and improvement in efficiency a. Improvement in Energy efficiency b. Cost control of consumables within the budget. c. Indigenization of spare parts and vendor development. d. In-sourced v/s outsourced – (Identify areas for outsourcing of Maintenance activities)
  • Operationsa. Developing and implementing plans & schedules for maintenance operations with focus on optimum utilization of manpower and material. b. Coordinating troubleshooting and breakdown /preventive /shutdown maintenance for curbing downtime to minimum level. c. Analyzing major breakdown & preventive maintenance findings and implementing corrective action plans. d. Calibrating equipment on a regular basis to ensure performance capacity of various equipment’s fulfils required norms and standards.
  • Spares Management a. Governing the inventory spares involving planning for storage and use of material so as to improve storage conditions and reduce expenses and wastages to minimum. b. Standardization / rationalization of critical family of Spares.
  • Cross functional Collaboration & Operational Excellencea. Work closely with Production, Quality, EHS, and Projects teams to ensure equipment meets process quality and safety standards. b. Ensure safe maintenance practices in line with industry standards and plant EHS guidelines. c. Legal compliance - all statutory requirements d. Drive continuous improvements in LOTO, work-at-height, confined space, and contractor safety management. e. Lead WCM Pillar cross functional responsibilities, 5S, Kaizen, and energy-saving initiatives within the department.
