Job Description
The Technical Proposal Writer is responsible for coordinating and developing high-quality technical and business proposals in response to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs. This role works closely with RFP teams, technical stakeholders, and leadership to ensure proposals are well-structured, professionally formatted, and aligned with technical and client requirements. The position requires strong document formatting skills, writing capabilities, and the ability to understand technical concepts and progressively take ownership of solution writing.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Coordinate with RFP, sales, and technical teams to gather inputs and manage proposal timelines.
- Analyze RFP documents to understand scope, technical requirements, and evaluation criteria.
- Create proposal outlines, compliance matrices, and structured response frameworks.
- Format and maintain proposal documents using Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Edit and refine content for clarity, relevance, and logical flow.
- Understand technical solutions through discussions with technical teams and translate them into client-ready language.
- Gradually take ownership of writing technical approaches, methodologies, and solution sections.
- Research industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance proposal quality.
- Perform quality checks to ensure proposals are complete, compliant, and submission-ready.
- Manage version control and maintain a repository of proposal templates and reusable content.
- Use Canva to design and maintain reusable proposal layouts, visual assets, and branded templates to enhance proposal presentation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in proposal coordination, proposal writing, or RFP response preparation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, especially document formatting and structured data.
- Working knowledge of Canva for creating reusable designs, layouts, and visual assets.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to understand and articulate technical concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and evolve into a solution-writing role
