Position: Hardware Technical Program Manager

Type: Contract

Compensation: $105–$140/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

Deliver programs within scope, quality, time, and budget, managing moderate-risk factors.
Conduct strategic planning, resolve complex issues, and demonstrate excellent communication and team-building skills.
Manage internal and contractor teams to deliver systems and enhancements meeting specified requirements.
Coordinate engineering design deliverables, including specifications, DOE, and validation plans.
Drive hardware component delivery for development builds and qualification to meet production timelines.
Communicate program statuses, identify potential setbacks, and manage program structure for clarity and efficiency.

Qualifications

Must-Have

BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience as a technology development program manager in consumer electronics.
Experience with overseas suppliers of hardware components.
Experience in ODM, JDM, and CM vendor engagement models.
Knowledge of phase gate approach to technology development programs.
Experience with mechanical system development, design for manufacturing, tooling, validation, and characterization processes.
Proven people management and team-building skills.
Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions.

Hourly contractor
