Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Director (Instrumentation & Controls / ELV) to join our organization in Gurgaon, India. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of instrumentation and controls systems, as well as Extra Low Voltage (ELV) infrastructure for complex building automation projects. You will lead a team of technical professionals, drive innovation in control systems, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Technical Director (Instrumentation & Controls / ELV) to join our organization in Gurgaon, India. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of instrumentation and controls systems, as well as Extra Low Voltage (ELV) infrastructure for complex building automation projects. You will lead a team of technical professionals, drive innovation in control systems, and ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client specifications and industry standards.
- Direct the design and development of instrumentation and controls systems, including HVAC controls, Building Management Systems (BMS), and automation solutions
- Lead and mentor a team of controls engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement
- Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of ELV projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project timelines
- Analyze system requirements and develop comprehensive control strategies using PLC programming, SCADA systems, and industry-standard protocols (Modbus, BACnet, KNX)
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with equipment suppliers to ensure quality components and timely procurement
- Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks on all instrumentation and controls installations
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures, best practices, and technical documentation for controls systems
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to translate technical requirements into effective solutions
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in building automation and controls systems
- Ensure all projects meet regulatory requirements, energy efficiency standards, and client expectations
- 18+ years of professional experience in instrumentation and controls engineering
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems design and implementation
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams
- Advanced proficiency in PLC programming and SCADA system configuration
- Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC control systems
- Expertise in automation protocols including Modbus, BACnet, and KNX
- Proficiency with technical software tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, and control system programming platforms
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, fire safety systems, and access control integration.
- Experience in energy management systems and optimization
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
- Relevant certifications in controls engineering or building automation (preferred)
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations in India (preferred)
