Job Description
About DROPZ
DROPZ is India's first true limited-edition platform, a culture-forward destination where every product drop is rare, intentional, and never restocked. We aren't just building a brand; we're building a platform that curates stories through exclusive in-house drops, creator collaborations, and collectible releases across fashion, lifestyle, and beyond. Every drop is a moment, but the platform is the big picture and our brand must ignite cultural hype.
As a Technical Designer at DROPZ, you will own the translation of creative direction into factory-proof execution, with a sharp focus on tech packs, fit, and 3D validation that reduces sampling loops and protects drop timelines. This is a 0 to 100 environment where you will move fast, document precisely, take accountability end to end, and help build repeatable fit and construction standards that scale with every limited-edition release.
What You’ll Do
DROPZ is India's first true limited-edition platform, a culture-forward destination where every product drop is rare, intentional, and never restocked.
What You’ll Do
- Own end-to-end tech packs for apparel and accessories, building production-ready documentation with measurements, graded specs, construction callouts, stitch standards, trims, artwork placement, labeling, and packaging so vendors execute with zero ambiguity.
- Create accurate technical flats and construction diagrams, then produce clear 3D-ready assets or simulation inputs that help validate proportion, drape, and function before sampling rounds expand.
- Lead 3D review cycles with design stakeholders, using visualization to flag fit or construction risks early, document decisions, and update specs so sampling time and cost are reduced without lowering quality.
- Build and maintain base size blocks and grade rules across assigned categories, ensuring sizing logic stays consistent across drops, then document standards so new styles start from strong foundations.
- Drive fit sessions by measuring samples against specs, capturing structured fit notes with clear deltas, aligning design and production on decisions, and updating tech packs quickly so revisions stay tight and traceable.
- Partner with pattern makers and manufacturers to resolve construction challenges, clarify callouts, and iterate prototypes until final sign-off, protecting premium finishing while staying realistic for limited-run production.
- Define fabric, trim, and hardware specifications with precision, including supplier references, test or performance expectations where applicable, component standards, and finish requirements to keep outcomes consistent.
- Review designs for manufacturability, cost, and timeline risk, flagging issues early and proposing buildable alternatives that preserve DROPZ’s limited-edition intent and quality bar.
- Prepare pre-production handoffs by building clean production packages, including BOM alignment, construction sequencing guidance, QC checkpoints, labeling standards, and packaging specs so bulk readiness is unmissable.
- Conduct detailed QC on samples and pre-production units by checking workmanship, measurements, tolerances, and construction consistency, then documenting deviations and driving closure before bulk moves forward.
- Maintain strict version control for tech packs, 3D files, comments, and approvals, keeping a reliable audit trail so internal handoffs and vendor communication stay low-friction.
- Support post-drop learning by capturing recurring fit issues, vendor gaps, and build risks, then converting them into updates for blocks, grade rules, and technical standards for future drops.
- You have 12 to 24 months of technical design experience and can independently create factory-ready tech packs with clear construction callouts, measurements, graded specs, trims, artwork placements, labeling, and packaging details.
- You are strong in fit evaluation, measuring garments accurately, translating feedback into specific pattern and construction changes, and closing loops fast so sampling stays on schedule.
- You understand base size and grading fundamentals and can apply consistent size logic across categories, documenting grade rules so DROPZ builds repeatable fit systems.
- You have working exposure to 3D workflows (for example CLO, Browzwear, or equivalent) and can use 3D output to validate proportion, identify risks early, and reduce unnecessary sampling iterations.
- You communicate clearly with designers, pattern makers, and vendors, ask precise questions, and keep decisions documented so production conversations stay crisp and traceable.
- You spot construction and quality risks early, from tolerances to seam finishes to trim placement, and propose practical fixes that protect premium feel within limited-run constraints.
- You are organized with files, revisions, and approvals, keeping documentation clean so stakeholders always trust the latest spec and nothing gets lost between versions.
- You thrive in a fast-moving startup environment, take ownership without being asked, and bring daily intensity while staying team-first, low-friction, and open to feedback.
- You care about craft and details, treating stitch types, seam finishes, trims, labeling, and packaging as brand signals that must match the story of each drop.
- You want long-term growth and mutual upside, and you are excited to build systems, standards, and culture with the team as DROPZ scales from 0 to 100.
- Ownership-first work where you build fit systems, tech pack standards, and 3D validation workflows that directly shape drop quality and speed as we scale.
- Growth through real responsibility in a 0 to 100 environment, where learning is fast because execution is real and your decisions show up in the final product.
- Creative freedom with structure, giving you room to improve how we build while holding a high bar for documentation, traceability, and production clarity.
- Long-term opportunity to expand scope across categories and technical excellence, growing into deeper ownership as DROPZ increases drop volume and complexity.
