Role Overview
We are hiring a Team Lead for our Backend Data Processing team. You will manage a team of 7 - 15 Backend Data Associates and own the entire office-side workflow: from the moment SD cards arrive from the field to the point where data is uploaded, quality-checked, organized, and ready for client delivery.
This role sits at the center of our operations, you are the bridge between the field collection team and our client delivery commitments. You need to be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable managing people, and able to maintain a fast, consistent daily rhythm even as volumes scale.

Key Responsibilities Team & Workflow Management
- Manage a team of 7-15 Backend Data Associates: Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets daily upload and QC targets
- Run a daily morning standup (15-20 mins) with the team to review the day's incoming SD cards, pending uploads, and priority items
- Define and maintain the daily workflow: SD card intake → logging → upload → QC → file organization → SD card formatting → return to field team
- Manage team attendance, shifts, and workload distribution to ensure consistent coverage even during leave or high-volume periods
- Train new team members on all SOPs, tools, and quality standards
- Ensure all incoming SD cards are logged, uploaded, and processed within the defined turnaround time (target: same-day processing for cards received before cutoff)
- Review and sign off on QC reports prepared by the team — verify that quality checks are thorough and consistent
- Personally review flagged issues: corrupted files, missing data, equipment-related quality problems — and coordinate resolution with the Operations Manager and field team
- Maintain a zero-backlog policy: no SD cards should sit unprocessed overnight without documented reason
- Own the SD card lifecycle tracking system: maintain a real-time log of every SD card's status (deployed at site / in transit / in office / uploading / formatted & ready / returned to field)
- Conduct a weekly physical inventory count of all SD cards and equipment in the office
- Coordinate with the field team on daily SD card handoff schedules — ensure formatted cards are always ready for the next field cycle
- Flag any SD card losses, damages, or shortages to the Operations Manager immediately
- Prepare and submit daily data processing reports to the Operations Manager: cards received, data uploaded (hours), QC pass/fail rates, backlog status, and team productivity
- Prepare weekly summary reports with trends: volume growth, recurring quality issues, team performance, and process improvement suggestions
- Escalate any issues that could impact client delivery timelines — data shortfalls, equipment failures, or team capacity constraints — proactively and with proposed solutions
- Identify inefficiencies in the upload/QC/organization workflow and propose improvements
- Document and update SOPs as processes evolve
- Work with the Operations Manager to define and implement new tracking tools or systems as the operation scales
- 2-4 years of experience in team lead, shift lead, or supervisory roles preferably in data processing, BPO, back-office operations, or document/media management
- Proven experience managing a team of 5+ people in an office/operations setting
- Strong organizational skills — able to track multiple parallel workflows (uploads, QC, SD card rotation) without losing visibility
- Proficient in Excel/Google Sheets: comfortable with trackers, pivot tables, data validation, and basic formulas
- Detail-oriented with a low tolerance for errors and missed steps
- Good communication in Hindi and English (English needed for documentation, trackers, and reporting)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where daily targets and turnaround times matter
- Experience working with video/media files, cloud storage platforms, or data management systems
- Background in BPO quality assurance, data entry team management, or logistics coordination
- Familiarity with project management or task tracking tools (Trello, Asana, Google Workspace, etc.)
- Basic understanding of file formats, data integrity, and storage systems
- ₹28,000 – ₹32,000 monthly salary
