About the Role
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Math will develop engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials for Grades 3–12, aligned with U.S. curriculum standards (e.g., Common Core and state standards). This role requires strong math subject expertise and the ability to design age-appropriate, concept-driven instruction that builds numeracy, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning skills.
This role involves developing content aligned to the U.S. elementary math curriculum and creating detailed lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.
Subject Matter Expertise : Responsibilities
- Develop content aligned to the U.S. elementary math curriculum, including:
- Operations & Algebraic Thinking
- Multiplication and division concepts and fluency
- Multi-digit arithmetic
- Numerical expressions
- Patterns and introductory algebraic reasoning
Number & Operations in Base Ten
- Place value understanding
- Multi-digit addition and subtraction
- Multiplication and division strategies
- Decimals to the hundredths
- Fractions
- Fraction equivalence and comparison
- Adding and subtracting fractions
- Multiplying fractions by whole numbers
- Understanding fractions as division
Measurement & Data
- Unit conversions
- Area, perimeter, and volume
- Line plots
- Introduction to coordinate grids (first quadrant)
Geometry
- Classifying two-dimensional shapes
- Understanding attributes and properties of shapes
- Develop curriculum-aligned content, including:
- Ratios & Proportional Relationships
