As a NPI Mechatronics materials Program Manager at Zydus Medtech , you are not just overseeing projects- you are orchestrating breakthroughs in support of New product development & localization. Should-cost models, supplier ecosystems (India + China), and design-to-cost strategies to achieve significant cost reductions while maintaining product performance and quality.

You will lead cross-functional teams through successful project execution, blending your technical excellence with strategic planning to deliver new or upgraded mechatronics projects. Your role is vital, owning technical projects from initiation through delivery using your expertise in Sourcing, Costing, Design Change ideas & monitoring project schedule and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

NPI Development & sourcing Manager – Zydus Medtech

• Lead end-to-end execution of New Product Introduction (NPI) programs for mechatronics-based medical devices, from concept to commercialization.
• Drive localization initiatives, reducing import dependency by developing and qualifying local suppliers across key components.
• Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration between R&D, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Own and manage program lifecycle, including planning, execution, risk mitigation, and final delivery within defined timelines and budgets.
• Develop and execute strategic sourcing roadmaps, including supplier identification, qualification, and long-term partnerships.
• Lead should-costing and cost optimization initiatives, achieving significant cost reductions through value engineering and supplier negotiations.

Supplier Cost Optimization & Negotiation

• Work closely with suppliers to:
• Identify cost-down opportunities
• Improve manufacturing efficiency
• Support procurement in:
• Fact-based negotiations using cost models
• Drive open-book costing discussion

Provide technical leadership in sourcing and development of:

o Motors (BLDC, stepper, precision drives)

o Solenoid valves (fluid control applications)

o Plastic injection-molded components

o Cable harnesses and connectors

o Rubber components (pipes, tubes, seals)

• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement design change ideas (DCIs) to improve product performance, manufacturability, and cost.
• Monitor and control project schedules, milestones, and budgets, ensuring on-time project execution.
• Drive supplier capability development and quality improvements, ensuring compliance with medical standards (ISO 13485, regulatory requirements).
• Conduct structured program reviews and use data-driven dashboards to track performance, risks, and progress.
• Enable innovation by integrating cost-effective, technically robust solutions into product design and supply chain.

Qualifications and Experience:

• 10 + Years experience in program management in NPIs managing supplier for medical devices with focus on Should cost modelling and sourcing strategies for Mechatronics, PCBA & mechanical for New product in medical industry.
