YOUR TASKS

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist will be responsible for leading procurement activities for automotive lighting components and technologies (LED modules, PCBs, lenses, housings, wiring, electronics). The role ensures cost optimization, supplier development, risk mitigation, and alignment with organizational goals for quality, innovation, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing & Commodity Management
  
  
  

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for lighting commodities (LEDs, drivers, PCBs, injection‑molded parts, die‑cast components, wiring harnesses).

Conduct cost analysis, benchmark pricing, and drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements.

Identify global and regional suppliers, evaluate capabilities, and build long‑term sourcing pipelines.

Support Make/Buy decisions and identify localization opportunities.

• Supplier Management
  
  
  

Lead end‑to‑end supplier selection, audits, onboarding, and performance management.

Build supplier partnerships supporting innovation in LED, OLED, laser, and ADAS‑integrated lighting.

Manage supplier KPIs: Cost, Quality, Delivery, Sustainability, and Risk.

• Negotiation & Contracting
  
  
  

Own negotiations for pricing, tooling cost, long‑term agreements, supply terms, and service-level expectations.

Ensure contract compliance and safeguard the company from supply disruptions.

• Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  
  
  

Work closely with R&D, Program Management, Quality, Operations, and Finance.

Support new product development (NPD) by integrating suppliers early in the design phase (early supplier involvement).

Participate in VA/VE activities to optimize cost, materials, and design.

• Cost, Risk & Supply Chain Optimization
  
  
  

Monitor market trends (LED price drops, electronics shortages, raw material volatility).

Develop dual‑sourcing strategies and supply‑chain risk mitigation plans.

Track and drive year‑on‑year cost savings.

• Compliance & Sustainability
  
  
  

Ensure sourcing practices meet corporate sustainability and ESG requirements.

Support audits for environmental compliance (RoHS, REACH), and IATF‑16949 standards.

Your Qualifications

Technical Skills

Knowledge of automotive lighting technologies (LEDs, optical systems, driver electronics).

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes: injection molding, die‑casting, SMT, coating, lens manufacturing.

Familiarity with automotive standards (APQP, PPAP, IATF‑16949).

• Core Competencies Strong negotiation and supplier‑relationship management skills. Cost engineering and analytical abilities. Understanding of global supply‑chain risks and mitigation. Proactive, data‑driven decision-making.
• Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in engineering / supply chain / business. 8–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in automotive components. Experience with lighting, electronics, or precision plastic components is a strong advantage.
