Backend Engineer – Early Stage Startup

We are looking for a Python backend engineer who enjoys solving real system and data problems. who enjoys building systems from scratch, solving real problems, and working in a fast-moving startup environment.

Our backend platform is primarily built using Python, therefore applicants should be comfortable designing and implementing Python-based backend services.

About Daixta

Daixta is building financial intelligence infrastructure designed to help institutions and individuals interact with financial data more transparently and efficiently.

We are looking for a Backend Infrastructure Engineer who enjoys solving real system and data problems. This role focuses on building backend services that process financial data, power analytical workflows, and support scalable infrastructure.

This is a hands-on role in an early-stage environment, where engineers take ownership and build systems end-to-end.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build backend APIs and services using Python

• Develop systems that process and structure financial data

• Build clean, modular backend services that integrate with analytical workflows

• Work closely with ML and product teams to support data processing pipelines

• Implement backend logic for data interpretation and reporting

• Ensure services are reliable, scalable, and easy to maintain

• Participate in system architecture and engineering discussions

Must Have

• Strong experience with Python backend development

• Experience building REST APIs using FastAPI or Flask

• Comfortable working with data processing and structured datasets

• Experience handling JSON, CSV, and data pipelines

• Understanding of API architecture and backend system design

• Ability to write clean, modular, and maintainable backend code

• Comfortable working independently in a startup environment

• Ability to complete a technical challenge as part of the hiring process

Preferred

• Experience working with financial or transaction data

• Experience processing documents or PDFs

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL

• Experience deploying applications on AWS

• Familiarity with Docker

• Experience working alongside ML engineers or data pipelines
