Sr Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and review detailed design and Bill of material of centrifugal pumps and related components including sheet metal parts using Creo and Windchill
• Perform engineering calculations
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility
• Support product testing and validation activities
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications, and internal design practices
• Contribute to continuous improvement, cost optimization, and design standardization initiatives
  
  

Must Have Competencies

• Experience in pump design / rotating equipment (mandatory)
• Proficiency in CAD tools (mandatory) for 3D modelling, assemblies, and detailing
• Hands-on experience in fits, tolerance, GD&T and stack-up analysis and ensuring functional performance of mechanical systems
• Experience in sheet metal design is advantageous
• Strong analytical and mechanical design skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Ability to independently execute design tasks with minimal supervision
  
  

Good To Have Competencies

• Knowledge of acoustic design and noise attenuation techniques
• Exposure to standards such as ISO, ASME, HI etc.
• Experience with pump testing and validation
• Familiarity with FEA/CFD tools
• Ability to Python-based design automation and optimization tools will be an added advantage
  
  

Technical Skills

• Mechanical design of centrifugal pumps
• Understanding of prime movers i.e. electric motors and diesel engines
• Strong hands-on experience with CAD tools (Creo or equivalent)
• Proficiency in MS Excel for engineering calculations and data analysis
  
  

Education

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering
