Job title: Spot Quoting Desk Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Ensure highest level of data quality by performing random audits to ensure teams are quoting rates accurately.
• Assist sales, department manager and colleagues in compiling quotes
• Ensure customer files and profiles contain all necessary documents
• Competency in pricing all products and services
• Assist with follow-up on sales leads in conjunction with the Regional Sales Director
• Provide sales support to sales force and customers
• Respond to customer requests with quick and accurate information
• Provide support on developing customer SOP's in coordination with department managers and sales
• Act as a liaison between sales, operations and Account management teams
• Work with sales force and team members to meet sales objectives
• Create and lead customer rate cards/responses for monthly, quarterly, and annual bids
• Provide quote analytics measuring KPIs for defined sales support metrics
• Responsible for training, mentoring and guiding teams on organizational goals
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by the Spot Desk Director
• Communicate vetting and approval process for RFQs managed locally

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The incumbent may supervise sales analysts and/or sales coordinators in the Spot Quoting Desk

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong knowledge of Air and Ocean freight pricing dynamics and an overall understanding of basic freight forwarding processes and cargo steering/routing.
• Excellent communication written and verbal skills
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
• Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
• Knowledge of all custom law, practices and procedures

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 12 years' experience in international transportation (air/ocean)- Freight Forwarding
• Minimum 5 years' experience in international transportation quotes/rate proposals- Freight Forwarding
• Minimum 3 years into leading Pricing analysts/ coordinators teams in Freight Forwarding
• Fluent in communication (English).
