Role Overview:

Position: Souring Specialist / Proposals Engineer - Mechanical and Instrumentation

Location: Coimbatore, India


To be successful in the role you will have exemplary Sourcing Specialization and access to OEMs and product knowledge of piping, valves, instrumentation items. Communication skills with knowledge of different product categories, have strong attention to detail and be well organized. We are looking for a team player with the right attitude. You don't need to have onsite/field experience to apply.


This role provides commercial supports to the local sales team to increase our supply volume and foot print.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential vendors and manufacturers of mechanical and instrumentation products in targeted countries.
  • Assess vendor capabilities, including technical expertise, manufacturing processes, quality standards, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and internal teams, to facilitate effective collaboration and communication.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to evaluate vendor performance, address any issues or concerns, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and developments related to mechanical and instrumentation products to identify new opportunities and potential partnerships.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on vendor activities, performance metrics, and market insights to senior management.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or certification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement is a plus.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, supplier relations, or procurement, with a focus on mechanical and instrumentation products, preferably on an international scale.
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and instrumentation products, including understanding of specifications, applications, and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate vendors, assess market trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in dealing with manufacturers for end clients like Aramco, ADNOC, KOC, Qatar Energy, Shell would be advantageous and preferred but is not a mandatory requirement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with vendor management software is desirable.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
