Role Overview
As the ServiceNow Product Owner, you will define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for the ServiceNow platform. You will collaborate with product family owners, process owners, and IT leadership to prioritize the backlog, plan delivery releases, and manage the complete product lifecycle. This includes conceptualizing new modules, managing upgrades, integrating third‑party tools, and modernizing engineering and deployment practices.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Product Leadership
- Define the ServiceNow product strategy, roadmap, and capability enhancements.
- Identify gaps and build adoption strategies for ServiceNow tools.
- Act as the bridge between stakeholders and development teams to ensure alignment.
Backlog & Requirement Management
- Translate product capabilities into Epics → Features → User Stories.
- Continuously refine, prioritize, and manage work across teams and leadership.
- Collect, analyze, and confirm customer requirements related to the ServiceNow platform.
Technical Expertise
- Provide ServiceNow platform and technical guidance across modules and features.
- Create High-Level Designs and technical solution documents for implementations.
- Develop ServiceNow solutions aligned with best practices to meet business needs.
- Build workflows, prototypes, and solution architectures for client engagements.
Integration & Development
- Develop and configure integration components, including:
- MID Server
- Web services
- Email integrations
- Other ServiceNow integration technologies
- Customize and configure ServiceNow elements:
- Workflows
- UI policies
- Client scripts
- Business rules
Administration & Support
- Administer ServiceNow instances and troubleshoot platform issues.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of ServiceNow platform capabilities (ITSM, HRSD, CSM, etc.).
- Strong understanding of functional and technical design requirements.
- Ability to convert business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Methodology & Communication
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong communication skills to simplify complex technical concepts for business teams.
Experience
- Typically 3–7+ years in a Product Owner or similar functional role.
Certifications (Preferred / Highly Valued)
- ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS)
Skills & Experience
- 3–7+ years as a Product Owner or relevant role.
- Strong expertise in ServiceNow (ITSM, HRSD, CSM).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
- Excellent communication & stakeholder management.
- Preferred: ServiceNow CAD / CIS certifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering and related field.
