Role Overview

MARS Cosmetics is looking for a strong Software Engineer to build internal software tools, automate workflows, and help embed AI across the organisation. This role will work closely with business, operations, sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and leadership teams to turn real operational problems into practical software products.

This is not a pure “ticket-closing” role. We want someone who can understand messy business processes, simplify them, and build reliable tools that improve speed, accuracy, visibility, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build internal tools, dashboards, workflows, and lightweight products for different teams across MARS.
2. Identify process bottlenecks and convert manual work into scalable software systems.
3. Integrate AI into business workflows such as data retrieval, reporting, approvals, content generation, search, forecasting, SOP assistance, and decision support.
4. Work on automations across systems like ERP, CRM, Google Workspace, WhatsApp, e-commerce, marketing tools, and internal databases.
5. Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and ship useful solutions fast.
6. Design clean backend and frontend systems with strong usability and reliability.
7. Maintain and improve existing internal tools, data pipelines, APIs, and automations.
8. Ensure data security, role-based access, logging, and proper system hygiene.
9. Help create a practical internal AI stack, including workflows, prompts, tools, and integrations that teams actually use.

What We’re Looking For

1. Strong software engineering fundamentals in backend and/or full-stack development.
2. Experience building internal tools, workflow products, dashboards, or business applications.
3. Good understanding of APIs, databases, integrations, and automation systems.
4. Familiarity with AI-enabled product building using LLMs, copilots, agents, RAG/search workflows, or process automation.
5. Ability to work across functions and understand real business problems, not just technical tasks.
6. Strong ownership and speed of execution.
7. Good product sense: can simplify instead of overengineering.
8. Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment.

Preferred Skills

1. Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, SQL, and modern web frameworks.
2. Experience with tools such as Node.js, React, Next.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Supabase/Firebase, or similar stacks.
3. Experience with workflow automation and integrations.
4. Exposure to AI APIs, vector search, document parsing, enterprise search, or internal copilots.
5. Experience building systems for operations, sales, supply chain, finance, or marketing teams is a plus.
