Job Description

Join SymphonyAI Financial Services as a Senior Software Engineer and work in our Financial Crime Prevention Product Engineering team. We develop innovative software and solutions for regulatory compliance, fraud, and financial crime detection, investigation, and reporting. https://www.symphonyai.com/

Role Overview

• Work on scalable, AI-powered SaaS products used by global financial institutions
• Understand functional & non-functional requirements and contribute to architecture, design, development & code reviews
• Develop backend services using Java (v17+) and modern frameworks
• Participate in frequent high-quality releases with CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (AI/ML engineers, product, DevOps)
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following engineering best practices (DDD, TDD, BDD)
• Contribute to AI-first product development, leveraging tools like ChatGPT, Copilot, and automation to boost productivity
  
  

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of hands-on commercial experience in Java/J2EE (Java 17+)
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming & design patterns
• Experience with Spring Boot / Spring Framework and Hibernate
• Understanding of JMS, REST APIs, and microservices principles
• Experience with Git / Bitbucket and CI/CD workflows
• Knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.)
• Experience with Maven / Gradle build tools
• Familiarity with IntelliJ / VS Code
• Strong communication & problem-solving skills
• Mindset to use AI tools to speed up development, testing, and debugging
  
  

Nice To Have (Preferred - Not Mandatory)

• Experience with Kafka or any message streaming system
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments
• Experience creating backend data interfaces & ETL pipelines
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins / CI/CD automation
• Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
• Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)
• Experience or interest in Scala or Apache Spark
• Knowledge of AI/LLM integration into backend systems
