Brief Summary

We are seeking a DFM/SMT Manufacturing Engineer with strong expertise in PCB assembly, manufacturability analysis, and NPI support. The role involves reviewing electronic designs, optimizing them for high-yield production, and collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure smooth, cost‑effective manufacturing launches.

What You’ll Do

  • Review PCB designs, Gerber/ODB++ data, BOMs, and specifications to assess manufacturability.
  • Provide DFM/DFA recommendations to improve yield, cost, and production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and BD teams during RFQ and NPI phases.
  • Align product requirements with factory capabilities, ensuring smooth SMT line setup.
  • Conduct DFM analysis using CAD/EDA tools and generate detailed manufacturability reports.
  • Identify risks related to PCB fabrication, materials, and assembly constraints.
  • Support process validation activities including SMT setup, reflow profiling, and AOI readiness.
  • Drive improvement initiatives and update internal DFM guidelines and best practices.
  • Engage directly with design teams and customers to resolve manufacturability issues.
  • Support yield, cost, and process efficiency analysis through structured data reporting.

Desired Skills

  • Strong expertise in SMT assembly processes such as screen printing, placement, reflow, and AOI.
  • Deep understanding of DFM/DFA principles for electronic assemblies.
  • Proficiency in PCB EDA/CAD tools for layout reviews.
  • Familiarity with PCB fabrication constraints, materials, and industry technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of IPC standards (e.g., IPC‑A‑610) and electronics manufacturing best practices.
  • Competence in office/data analysis tools for reporting, yield tracking, and cost analysis.
  • Understanding of PLM/MES systems and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma.

Added Advantage to the Role

  • Experience in EMS or high‑volume electronics production environments.
  • Ability to coordinate with global teams across time zones.
  • Willingness to travel for customer discussions or supplier engagements.
