Location: Mumbai
Contract Duration: 4-6 Months (Project-Based)
Role Overview The Site Manager is a senior project role responsible for overseeing vendor activities, ensuring safe execution of works, adherence to project schedules, and compliance with technical and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership, vendor management experience, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary project requirements.
The role involves working within a manufacturing/industrial environment and may include exposure to challenging site conditions.

The position requires strong leadership, vendor management experience, and the ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary project requirements.
The role involves working within a manufacturing/industrial environment and may include exposure to challenging site conditions.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Promote and uphold company values and professional integrity.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and coaching to site teams.
- Build cohesive working relationships with internal teams, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Lead/coordinate multidisciplinary project teams with multiple interfaces.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, including anti-bribery and anti-slavery laws.
- Manage and drive progress of equipment packages in coordination with engineering and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards and work towards zero incidents.
- Oversee vendor activities to ensure adherence to contractual requirements, scope, and specifications.
- Implement quality standards and oversee inspection & test plan (ITP) compliance.
- Monitor project schedules and expedite vendor deliverables to meet targets.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and support documentation of claims/delays.
- Ensure delivery of equipment free from defects and manage punch lists.
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Ensure all personnel have required safety inductions, PPE, and valid certifications.
- Conduct weekly site safety inspections and daily coordination/toolbox meetings.
- Monitor project KPIs, chair weekly vendor progress meetings, and issue progress reports.
- Ensure proper documentation, preservation activities, and material transfer records.
- Coordinate client and third-party inspections.
- Consolidate and manage final inspection punch lists.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to improve processes.
- Use standard project methodologies to enhance project management practices.
- Capture lessons learned and contributed to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Health & Safety certification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
- Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or construction within Oil & Gas, Water Treatment, or Offshore-related projects.
- Experience managing large turnkey project packages.
- Experience working with international vendors and clients.
- Participation in internal and external quality audits.
- Chartered status (e.g., IMechE, IChemE, PMI, etc.)
- Experience in:
- Duplex/GRE piping fabrication
- Rotating equipment installation
- Earned Value Management
- Commercial negotiations
- International inspection/test recording systems
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of vendor contracts.
- Proficient in MS Office and general IT applications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance effectively.
- Knowledge of risk, change control, and opportunity management.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Indian languages is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Primavera (desirable).
- Willingness to travel and work across regions as required.
- Strong team-building skills.
- Leadership capability to develop and mentor staff (desirable).
