Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Shipping Manager, located in Ghaziabad & Greater Noida. The Shipping Manager will oversee daily shipping operations, manage inventory, and coordinate shipments to ensure on-time delivery. Responsibilities include supervising shipping and receiving staff, ensuring proper packaging and labeling, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and optimizing warehouse processes. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with vendors, logistics providers, and internal teams to achieve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Handle end-to-end import operations for raw materials such as alloy steel, scrap, consumables, and machinery.
- Coordinate with global suppliers for shipment planning and documentation.
- Ensure timely customs clearance by liaising with CHA and port authorities.
- Monitor and optimize import costs including duty, freight, and demurrage.
- Manage export of forged and machined components to international customers.
- Ensure accurate preparation and verification of export documentation (Invoice, Packing List, Shipping Bill, Certificate of Origin, etc.).
- Coordinate with production, dispatch, and logistics teams for shipment readiness.
- Track shipments and ensure on-time delivery as per customer commitments.
- Ensure compliance with DGFT, Customs, GST, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage IEC, EPCG, Advance Authorization, and other licenses.
- Stay updated on export incentives, duty drawback schemes, and government policies.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters.
- Negotiate freight rates and finalize logistics contracts.
- Develop and maintain a reliable vendor base for logistics services.
- Analyze logistics costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports on imports, exports, freight costs, and delays.
- Monitor KPIs and drive improvements in operational efficiency.
- Follow up on payments with customers and vendors.
- Handle and monitor Letters of Credit (LC) and related documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related field.
- 5–10 years of experience in import-export operations (preferably in manufacturing/forging industry).
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, DGFT policies, and international trade documentation.
- Good negotiation, coordination, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
