As part of our ongoing professionalization and expansion of the after-sales division, we are seeking a dynamic individual for our location in southern India to lead service, spare parts management, and customer support.

SERVICE MANAGER / SPARE PARTS MANAGER (w/m/d)

The task:

  • Responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the international after-sales and spare parts business
  • Ensuring high service quality through efficient processes in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, fault resolution, and warranty service
  • Managing service calls, including technical customer support and on-site assistance for complex malfunctions
  • Expanding the spare parts business through service contracts, maintenance agreements, and training programs
  • Establishing a shared service center in close collaboration with global service and engineering teams in Germany
  • Ensuring optimal spare parts availability through efficient inventory, procurement, and warehouse management
  • Analyzing and optimizing service KPIs (including SLA compliance, first-time fix rate, response times, downtime, and cost and budget metrics)
  • Leading, developing, and training the service organization, including conducting training sessions for internal teams and customers
  • Building and maintaining long-term customer relationships and serving as the central point of contact for service and spare parts issues
  • Regular reporting on service and spare parts metrics, including trends in revenue, costs, and consumption
  • Ensuring quality and safety standards in collaboration with international technical partners

The profile:

  • A successfully completed technical degree or comparable qualification, ideally in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, industrial engineering, or supply chain management
  • Several years of professional experience in after-sales, service, technical customer support, spare parts management, or maintenance at a manufacturing company
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory management, spare parts processes, and the use of relevant inventory and ERP systems
  • Experience leading technical service units as well as in professional customer and complaint management
  • Strong customer focus, problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial mindset, and excellent ability to get things done
  • A strong communicator with a structured approach, leadership qualities, a hands-on mentality, negotiation skills, and the confidence to operate in an international environment
  • Very good English skills and a willingness to travel
