Role Description The Service Engineering Specialist for Material Handling Equipment is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chennai Area. This role is responsible for conducting routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a variety of material handling equipment at customer locations. The specialist will diagnose technical issues, perform troubleshooting, and provide timely field service to minimize equipment downtime. Daily tasks include responding to service calls, offering technical support and guidance to customers, documenting work performed, and coordinating with the internal team on parts, scheduling, and service reports. The role also involves adhering to safety standards, maintaining tools and service vehicles, and building strong professional relationships with clients.

Qualifications

  • Strong Service Engineering skills in material handling equipment, with experience in installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Analytical Skills to diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Hands-on Field Service experience, including on-site visits, customer interaction, and coordination of service activities.
  • Solid Technical Support capabilities, including clear communication of technical information and guidance to customers and internal teams.
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety practices and regulatory compliance relevant to material handling equipment.
  • Ability to work independently in the field, manage schedules, and maintain accurate service documentation.
  • Prior experience with forklifts, cranes, conveyors, or similar industrial equipment is an advantage.
