Role Description The Senior Wedding Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for leading the design and execution of wedding décor and floral concepts from initial brief to event completion. This role involves meeting with clients to understand their vision, themes, and budget, then translating those requirements into detailed design plans, mood boards, and layout proposals. The Senior Wedding Designer will coordinate floral selections, color palettes, venue décor, and staging, and will supervise junior designers and support staff during setup and breakdown at venues. Day-to-day tasks include supplier coordination, scheduling, quality checks on arrangements, and ensuring designs are delivered on time and meet agreed standards. The role also requires close collaboration with venue managers and other vendors, on-site problem-solving, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace during events.

Qualifications

  • Strong wedding and event design skills, including concept development, floral arrangement, color coordination, and venue décor planning.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, with the ability to understand client needs, present design proposals, and manage expectations professionally.
  • Demonstrated project management abilities, including vendor coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and overseeing on-site setup and teardown.
  • Attention to detail and quality, with skills in visual merchandising, layout planning, and maintaining consistent design standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to lead and mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, and to handle physically demanding on-site work such as lifting and arranging décor materials.
  • Previous experience in wedding design, event décor, floral design, or a related creative field; portfolio of past work is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant education in design, fine arts, event management, or a similar discipline is an advantage but not mandatory for candidates with strong practical experience.
