Senior Functional & Automation Test Engineer (BFSI Domain | 8–12 Years)

Location: Bangalore

Shift: 7 AM – 4 PM

Availability: Immediate to 30 Days Joiners Only

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Functional & Automation Test Engineer with strong expertise in BFSI domain applications and proven capability in leading end‑to‑end testing activities across complex programs. The ideal candidate brings a blend of functional testing depth, automation capability, stakeholder management, and ownership mindset.

Key Responsibilities

🔹 Test Strategy & Execution

• Define and execute test strategies for System Testing, Integration Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing.
• Develop, review, and maintain comprehensive test scenarios and test cases covering business and technical workflows.
• Drive system, integration, and E2E test cycles, ensuring complete functional coverage and alignment with business requirements.

🔹 Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with business teams to gather requirements, analyze gaps, and ensure end‑to‑end traceability.
• Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all testing activities within the program.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (BA, Dev, Infra, and Ops) to resolve issues, validate data flows, and ensure smooth test execution.

🔹 Reporting & Governance

• Provide clear, timely, and data‑driven test reports to program stakeholders.
• Manage defect lifecycle: triage, prioritization, tracking, and closure.
• Ensure adherence to testing best practices, quality gates, and process compliance.

Core Skills & Experience Required

✔ Functional Testing Expertise

• 8+ years of testing experience with strong hands‑on exposure to:
• System Testing
• Integration Testing
• E2E Testing
• UAT Support
• Strong BFSI domain understanding (Banking, Payments, Lending, Risk, Compliance, Insurance).
• Ability to validate payloads, interfaces, and data transformations based on mapping rules.

✔ Test Automation Skills

• Hands‑on experience with Selenium, Playwright, or similar automation tools.
• Good scripting knowledge in Java / Python / JavaScript.
• Exposure to API testing & automation (Postman, RestAssured, similar tools).
• Understanding of CI/CD integration and hybrid functional–automation strategies.

✔ Core Testing Competencies

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to take ownership and drive testing across complex, multi‑team environments.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery models and collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.).

Nice to Have

• Experience with test data management strategies, synthetic data creation, and masking.
• Understanding of defect triage governance across large programs.
• Exposure to performance or non-functional testing concepts.

Work Model

This is a Bangalore-based role with a 7 AM – 4 PM shift.

While the delivery model may offer flexibility, onsite presence is expected as per project needs to ensure effective collaboration and delivery excellence.
