In the role of Senior Technical Designer, we'll count on you to:

• Demonstrated knowledge of technical design content, design management principles, digital technologies, and design workflows
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply appropriate architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications to construction documents
• Perform architectural assignments independently with general guidance from Project Leadership
• Experience across healthcare, education, civic, science, data centre / mission-critical, and research facility projects
• Execute architectural layouts and detailed design work across project phases
• Establish and lead owner/client and internal meetings; participate in agency reviews to ensure code compliance
• Manage and deliver design activities, including the production of coordinated design information
• Conduct on-site work sessions in collaboration with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams
• Support Project Architects, Architectural Project Coordinators, and Technicians as required; take responsibility for deliverables throughout all architectural phases
• Review architectural documentation to identify and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts
• Perform QA/QC processes and comprehensive technical reviews
• Write, edit, and coordinate architectural specifications
• Incorporate approved changes into project documentation in a timely and accurate manner
• Provide construction contract administration support as required
• Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
• Perform additional duties as needed to support project and team objectives
• As a Senior Technical Designer you will work on projects in a variety of sectors, with a focus on data centers. You’ll be working closely with the multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors in the UK and Europe.
  
  

Required Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture or closely related field
• 5+ years’ experience of working with healthcare, education, civic, science, data centre / mission-critical, and research facility projects is desirable.
• A minimum of 5 years professional or internship experience preparing details, specifications and construction document
• Understanding and experience of various building contracts
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
• Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
• Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
• Strong knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in architecture
• Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
• Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
• Rhino and Grasshopper experience
