Senior Software Engineer, Youtube OTT

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
• Experience building and scaling a new product, including rapid iteration/prototyping and ability to pivot based on user feedback.
• Experience with data infrastructure, especially data reconciliation or with knowledge graph.
• Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

• Write and test product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Develop back-end services and data systems (largely in C++, server platform).
• Manage offline batch pipelines for both publishing data to indexing systems and processing petascale logs from YouTube data warehouses.
• Co-develop with full-stack Engineer teams while facilitating feature/experiment launches and conducting end-to-end logging instrumentation.
