About the Role

Sycomp is seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Specialist to oversee and optimize global logistics operations supporting our international technology deployments and supply chain activities. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end logistics processes, including import/export operations, transportation management, customs compliance, vendor coordination, and delivery performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in international shipping, trade compliance, customs regulations, and global supply chain operations. They will work cross-functionally with Procurement, PMO, Finance, Sales, Operations, suppliers, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure seamless execution of customer projects and operational excellence.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively while maintaining exceptional service levels for our customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Operations

• Manage end-to-end logistics activities including international and domestic shipments, transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery coordination.
• Coordinate import/export operations and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.
• Oversee transportation activities across air, road, rail, and ocean freight channels.
• Ensure timely and accurate movement of products to support customer deployments and project schedules.

Trade Compliance & Customs

• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, customs requirements, and international trade laws.
• Prepare, review, and maintain shipping documentation including customs declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other regulatory documents.
• Manage relationships with customs brokers and government agencies to facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.
• Maintain strong knowledge of Incoterms, trade compliance requirements, and global shipping regulations.

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Build and maintain relationships with freight forwarders, carriers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
• Monitor vendor performance and service levels to ensure operational excellence.
• Resolve transportation issues, shipment delays, and supply chain disruptions efficiently.

Cost & Performance Management

• Analyze logistics costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
• Monitor logistics KPIs and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate freight rates and transportation expenses while maintaining service quality and customer expectations.

Risk Management

• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, regulatory, transportation, and operational risks.
• Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of disruptions on customer deliveries and business operations.
• Proactively address issues that may impact service levels or delivery schedules.

Project Management & Collaboration

• Support logistics-related projects including site surveys, technology deployments, warehouse initiatives, and operational improvement programs.
• Partner closely with Procurement, Finance, PMO, Sales, Operations, and Customer Success teams.
• Provide logistics expertise during project planning and execution phases.
• Ensure all logistics activities align with customer requirements and business objectives.

Customer Service Excellence

• Maintain a customer-centric approach to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders regarding shipment status and potential issues.
• Support high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable logistics execution.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, International Business, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or import/export operations.
• Strong understanding of international shipping, customs regulations, and trade compliance.
• Experience managing global shipments across multiple transportation modes including air, road, rail, and ocean.
• Strong knowledge of Incoterms and international trade practices.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and global vendors.
• Proven experience managing logistics costs and identifying optimization opportunities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using KPIs and operational metrics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced global environment.

Preferred

• Experience supporting large-scale technology deployments or global IT projects.
• Experience working in multinational logistics or supply chain environments.
• Knowledge of ERP, transportation management, or logistics systems.
• Project management experience within logistics or operations functions.
