Senior Jewellery Designer / Design Director – Luxury Jewellery

Location: Chennai (Hybrid / Project-Based / Consulting Arrangements Considered)

BADAL is a new luxury jewellery house being built with a strong focus on design, craftsmanship, client experience, and long-term brand building.

We are not looking to create a traditional jewellery store assortment. Our objective is to build a distinctive jewellery brand with a clear design language, strong collection architecture, and a long-term vision.

We are looking for an experienced jewellery designer who can contribute beyond individual jewellery sketches.

The ideal candidate should be capable of participating in:

• Brand DNA development
• Collection architecture
• Design language creation
• Collection development
• Product direction
• Design refinement
• Prototype and development reviews

This is not a CAD-only role and not suitable for entry-level designers.

• Develop and refine collection concepts
• Create jewellery collections across multiple categories
• Participate in defining the brand’s design language
• Translate concepts into commercially viable products
• Work closely with management during collection development
• Review prototypes and assist with design refinement
• Contribute to long-term product strategy and collection planning
• Guide and collaborate with CAD and development teams where required

Applicants should ideally have experience with one or more of the following:

• Luxury jewellery brands
• Fine jewellery brands
• Premium jewellery houses
• Independent designer jewellery brands
• High jewellery collections

Experience working with established luxury or design-led jewellery brands will be preferred.

• Strong portfolio of original jewellery design work
• Collection-building capability rather than individual designs alone
• Understanding of luxury positioning
• Strong aesthetic judgement
• Commercial awareness
• Knowledge of gemstones, materials, and jewellery construction
• Ability to balance creativity with wearability and market relevance
