Senior Java Software Engineer

We're Hiring: Senior Java Backend Tech Lead

Urbanfix IT Services is hiring multiple Senior Java Backend Tech Leads to work on large-scale backend modernization and migration projects for international clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration of legacy Java applications to Java 17+
• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs
• Refactor, optimize, and modernize enterprise applications
• Build microservices and integration layers
• Drive architecture, code quality, testing, and performance improvements
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Europe and North America
• Leverage AI tools such as CursorAI and GitHub Copilot to accelerate development

Requirements

• 8+ years of Java development experience
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs
• Experience migrating large legacy Java systems
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and Docker
• Excellent debugging and performance optimization skills
• Strong English communication skills
• Experience working with international teams
• Daily use of AI coding tools such as CursorAI, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Kafka or RabbitMQ
• AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Experience in insurance, finance, or healthcare domains
