As a Senior IT Network Engineer at Micron, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational health of Micron?s data communications systems, focusing on security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability . This role involves supporting the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and administration of Micron?s data and voice communication systems, including LAN/WAN, wireless, and telecommunications hardware/software. You will collaborate with business units to deliver solutions that meet or exceed requirements while adhering to published standards and compliance guidelines. Core Responsibilities Network Maintenance & Monitoring Monitor and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure, wireless networks, and VPNs. Conduct regular performance assessments and implement optimizations. Troubleshooting & Escalation Resolve escalated network issues from L1 support. Diagnose complex routing and switching problems (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Configuration & Upgrades Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and network security protocols. Perform system upgrades, patches, and firmware updates. Project & Process Management Plan and execute network projects aligned with business requirements. Document configurations and maintain compliance with ITIL/ITSM frameworks. Collaboration & Leadership Work with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to skill development. Additional Responsibilities Develop process improvement strategies across the network. Prioritize and manage multiple projects based on department and corporate objectives. Communicate project strategy, status, and actions through meetings, presentations, and reports. Work with global network teams to incorporate Micron standards and best practices into local site builds. Required Skills & Qualifications Strong knowledge of network protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, STP. Expertise in Cisco/Arista technologies, firewall configuration, and VPNs. Familiarity with network monitoring tools (OpsRamp, Splunk, Nagios, Wireshark). Understanding of ITIL processes and incident/change management. Certifications (Highly Recommended) Cisco CCNP Preferred Competencies Ability to design scalable network architectures. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
