Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Interior Designer role based in Chennai. The Senior Interior Designer will lead end-to-end interior design projects, from concept development and space planning to detailed drawings and onsite coordination. Daily responsibilities include meeting clients to understand requirements, preparing design presentations and mood boards, specifying FF&E, and collaborating with architecture and construction teams to ensure design intent is translated accurately on site. The role involves reviewing construction drawings, supervising project execution, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and maintaining project timelines and quality standards. The Senior Interior Designer will also mentor junior designers, contribute to design guidelines, and uphold Urban Shark’s beyond-luxury brand aesthetic in every project.
Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Interior Design and FF&E selection, including finishes, furniture, fixtures, and equipment for high-end residential and commercial projects.
• Advanced skills in Space Planning and Architecture coordination to create functional, aesthetically refined layouts aligned with structural constraints.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing Construction Drawings, technical details, and documentation for execution and regulatory approvals.
• Relevant experience in luxury or high-end interior design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating concept development, materiality, and detailing.
• Hands-on experience with design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and presentation tools.
• Excellent project management, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work on-site with cross-functional teams and to lead, guide, and mentor junior design staff.
