About This Role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Data Center Management responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of our data center environments. This role blends strong technical engineering expertise with operational governance, site management, and cross‑functional coordination. The engineer will drive site assessments, support site operations, maintain inventory accuracy, oversee physical infrastructure installations and operational / incident support, and ensure high‑quality execution across multiple US‑based data centers and colocation facilities.

This position is ideal for someone with deep data center engineering knowledge — spanning networking, cabling infrastructure, DCIM tooling, physical layouts, and break‑fix capabilities — combined with a strong sense of ownership, operational rigor, and governance mindset.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead or participate in high level technical concepts spanning technology and business
  • Develop specifications for complex infrastructure systems, design and test solutions
  • Contribute to the testing of business, application and technical infrastructure requirements
  • Drive solutions to reduce recovery
  • Review and analyze solutions for cloud security, secrets management and key rotations
  • Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices
  • Design complex system upgrades
  • Resolve troublesome trends as they develop
  • Develop a long range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring
  • Direct the daily risk and control flow of operations, focusing on policies, procedures and work standards to ensure success
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications

  • Data Center Operations & Engineering
  • Drive engineering tasks in our global data centers, including hardware installation, racking/stacking, cable routing, labeling, and physical audits.
  • Apply deep understanding of:
    • Networking hardware: switches, routers, optics, patch panels, cross‑connects.
    • Cabling standards: copper and fiber (CAT6/6A, OM3/OM4/OS2), structured cabling best practices, color coding, cable management systems.
    • Rack design & physical layout: hot/cold aisle, power balancing, weight distribution, airflow optimization.
    • Break‑fix support: first‑level troubleshooting for compute, network, power strips/PDUs, cables, environmental sensors.
  • Provide engineering input for new build activities, rack expansions, migrations, and lifecycle replacements.
  • Drive comprehensive site assessments covering:
  • Physical security
  • Asset management
  • Media management
  • Environmental hygiene
  • Power/cooling efficiency
  • Document findings, assign remediation actions, and ensure closure of all failures within defined SLA windows.
  • Partner with Security & Risk to maintain remote access controls, including:
    • Badging compliance
    • Visitor logs
    • Camera health & coverage
    • Guard operations
    • ESOC coordination
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with:
    • Network engineering teams
    • Server & virtualization teams
    • Storage teams
    • Capacity managers
    • Application owners
    • Data center site managers
    • Security & risk stakeholders
    • Third‑party facility providers
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for operational escalations and on‑site issue resolution.
  • Experience in a financial services or regulated enterprise
  • Good Knowledge of:
    • Power systems (A/B power, PDUs, breakers)
    • Remote Hands / Smart Hands operations
    • Cabling, network and compute infrastructure
  • Certifications such as:
    • ITIL, Network+, CCNA
  • Experience overseeing or working with colocation vendors.
