Location: Kolkata (Head Office)
Compensation: Up to βΉ15 LPA
Our client is a well-established and fast-growing organization in the irrigation and agriculture solutions sector, with a strong presence across India. The company is recognized for its innovative irrigation technologies, strong distribution network, and commitment to improving agricultural productivity.
The organization is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) for the Sales function who will work closely with sales leadership to drive workforce effectiveness, strengthen field-force productivity, and support the achievement of business targets.
This role requires an HR professional who understands sales environments, performance-driven cultures, and data-driven HR decision-making.
- Partner with Sales leaders to understand manpower requirements across territories, channels, and product lines
- Support end-to-end hiring for frontline sales, Area Sales Managers (ASM), and Regional Sales Managers (RSM)
- Build a strong sales talent pipeline to support expansion and seasonal hiring requirements
- Drive the Performance Management System (PMS) including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals
- Implement structured sales productivity tracking mechanisms, dashboards, and KPIs
- Identify performance gaps and recommend targeted HR interventions
- Support the design and communication of sales incentive and reward programs
- Monitor incentive payouts and ensure alignment with compensation policies
- Provide HR analytics on productivity trends and incentive effectiveness
- Act as a strategic HR partner to Sales leadership
- Participate in monthly and quarterly business reviews with HR insights on workforce productivity and attrition
- Support change management initiatives and organizational development
- Conduct market visits and field interactions with sales teams to understand on-ground challenges
- Drive employee engagement initiatives for distributed sales teams
- Strengthen morale, motivation, and retention within the sales organization
- Partner with training teams to design role-based learning and capability development programs
- Support induction and onboarding programs for new sales employees
- Provide employee relations support for geographically distributed sales teams
- Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable labour laws
- Address employee grievances and maintain a positive work environment
Experience
- 7β10 years of experience in HR Business Partner roles
- Experience supporting Sales or Commercial teams is mandatory
Candidates from the following sectors will be preferred:
- Micro Irrigation
- Agriculture Inputs
- Pesticides
- Industrial / Machinery sectors
- FMCG or Commercial product organizations
MBA / PGDM in Human Resources
- Strong HR Analytics capability (Excel, dashboards, MIS reporting)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work in a performance-driven sales environment
- Exposure to HR technology platforms will be an advantage
- Candidate stability is important
- Kolkata-based candidates preferred
- Willingness to travel as per business requirements
Candidates with primarily HR operations, payroll, or site HR experience without exposure to Sales HRBP environments may not be considered.
