As our automation business continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Executive – Purchase (based out of Chennai) who can strengthen our supplier ecosystem and support the sourcing needs of our machine building operations.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure components required for machine building and automation systems.
• Develop and manage vendors for machined components, sheet metal fabrication, and custom mechanical parts.
• Review engineering drawings and technical specifications to ensure accurate sourcing.
• Obtain quotations, evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing and release purchase orders.
• Work closely with design, production, and project teams to understand material requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and quality compliance.
• Identify and develop new vendors to strengthen the supplier base.
• Maintain procurement documentation, vendor data and purchase records.

Requirements

• Experience sourcing machining components, sheet metal parts, and mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with vendor ecosystems supporting machine building and automation industries.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Good negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
• Strong communication and coordination with internal engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in purchase / sourcing in a machine building, automation, or industrial equipment company
• Preferably Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
