To secure competitive ocean freight rates, maintain carrier relationships, and provide accurate, profitable quotations to sales/customers.

• Obtain freight rates from shipping lines (MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, etc.) and NVOCCs
• Maintain rate database (FCL, LCL, special equipment, OOG, reefer)
• Prepare customer quotations (import/export)
• Negotiate best buying rates to maximize margins
• Coordinate with overseas agents for routing and pricing
• Monitor market trends (GRI, PSS, congestion, surcharges)
• Handle RFQs / tenders (large volume clients)
• Ensure correct costing structure (freight + local charges + margin)
• Support sales team with quick turnaround quotes

• Quote turnaround time (TAT)
• Gross profit per shipment
• Hit ratio (quote vs booking conversion)
• Carrier rate competitiveness

• Strong knowledge of INCOTERMS
• Understanding of trade lanes (India–Middle East, Europe, USA, Africa)
• Negotiation skills
• Excel & freight software (CargoWise, LogiSys, etc.)
• Good communication with carriers & agents
