Organisation: Indian Society for Quality (ISQ)

Reports to: Executive Director

 

Role Purpose

The Senior Executive will support the Executive Director in leading ISQ’s mission to advance quality practices in India and globally. This role is designed as a succession track, preparing the incumbent to assume the position of Executive Director. The Senior Executive will focus on organizational growth, governance, stakeholder engagement, and international collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Organizational Growth

·      Develop ISQ by enlarging the membership base with clear annual targets.

·      Expand the number of chapters, committees, and forums to strengthen ISQ’s reach and influence.

·      Promote membership actively through campaigns, partnerships, and visibility initiatives.

Program & Event Execution

  • Plan and execute ISQ’s activities, programs, and events as per schedule including organising support vendors, teams.
  • Support the Governing Council (GC) and ISQ chapters to ensure seamless execution and high participation.
  • Innovate formats for conferences, workshops, and recognition programs to enhance member engagement.

Administration & Governance

  • Ensure all administrative arrangements are in place and resolve issues independently or with GC support.
  • Guarantee compliance with ISQ’s by-laws and statutory requirements.
  • Facilitate periodic Governing Council meetings, ensuring timely follow-up and monitoring of decisions.

Financial Management

·      Oversee financial accounts, ensuring transparency and accountability.

·      Support fundraising and resource mobilization initiatives.

International Collaboration

  • Promote tie-ups and active participation with international organizations such as ANQ, IAQ, and others.
  • Facilitate Indian professionals’ exposure to international forums, awards, and collaborations (e.g., Quality Sustainability and Innovation Awards).
  • Represent ISQ in global networks, strengthening India’s image in the quality movement.

Objectives

Achieve measurable growth in membership and chapters.

  • Successfully lead at least one flagship ISQ event or initiative.
  • Establish strong financial discipline and generate surplus for organizational development.
  • Build international partnerships that provide visibility and opportunities for ISQ members.
  • Demonstrate leadership readiness by managing governance, finance, and external representation effectively.

  • Leadership & Vision: Ability to inspire and manage organizational growth.
  • Communication Excellence: Skilled in drafting, editing, and delivering impactful messages.
  • Governance & Compliance: Strong understanding of statutory requirements and organizational by-laws.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build relationships with industry, academia, and international networks.
  • Financial Acumen: Experience in managing budgets, accounts, and surplus generation.
  • Event Management: Proven ability to plan and execute large-scale events.
  • Succession Potential: Demonstrated capacity to assume the Executive Director role

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Postgraduate degree in Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–15 years of leadership experience in quality, organizational development, or CSR.
  • Exposure to national and international quality networks preferred.
  • Strong organizational, editorial, and presentation skills.
  • Multiple language skills
  • Experience in publication activities like journals, magazines, etc preferred
  • Ability to network with senior colleagues, professionals and organisations to improve collaboration is essential
